Approved Platforms for Employee Communication with Individual Students

To comply with Oklahoma law, JPS employees engaging in electronic or digital communication with an individual student must include the student's parent or guardian in the communication UNLESS the communication is on a school-approved platform AND the communication is related to school and academic matters.

The following platforms have been approved by the Jenks Public Schools Board of Education for communication between employees and individual students:

  • Canvas

  • Hudl

  • RankOne

  • Seesaw

  • TalkingPoints

  • Email from a jenksps.org address

When a student contacts an employee via email, the employee is allowed to respond directly from a jenksps.org email address without copying the parent or guardian.
