Purchasing 2024-25 Chromebook Insurance:

  • In-person at your student's schedule pick-up or meet the teacher night.

  • Online through the Powerschool Parent Portal

    • Purchases and Payments on the left

    • Select student

    • Items at All Schools

    • Choose the appropriate school for the 2024-25 School Year

  • Why should I purchase optional insurance?

    • The JPS Student Technology Insurance program gives parents peace of mind by allowing them to purchase insurance and provide TSI support for student devices and accessories. Even the most responsible students can experience theft or accidents. 

  • How much does Chromebook insurance cost? 

    • Chromebook insurance can be purchased for $35 per student per school year.

  • What grades can purchase insurance? 

    • All students, grades K through 12 have the option to purchase insurance to protect their Technology Package (Chromebook, charger, and case*)

  • My student is a part of the NAE (Native American Education) program, do I need to pay for insurance?

    • Students in grades 7-12, who are a part of the NAE program at Jenks, receive insurance paid for by the NAE office.  

    • Students in grades K-6 who are part of the NAE program at Jenks, who would like insurance, will need to contact the NAE office expressing their interest.  Insurance is not automatically purchased for these grades. 

  • When is the insurance policy active? 

    • The insurance policy is active from the date of purchase through the first day of school of the following school year.

  • Can I purchase insurance after something happens?

    • No. Chromebook insurance is like car insurance; you cannot purchase the protection after something has happened to the technology package. 

  • How does insurance work?

    • If purchased, the JPS Student Technology Insurance covers 100% of the FIRST incident of damage or loss (including theft**) of the Technology Package Items (Chromebook, charger, case)

    • The second incident covers 50% of the damage or loss (including theft**) of the Technology Package Items. 

    • After two incidents, the parent is responsible for all repairs and replacement costs. *Exact repair/replacement costs will be determined at the time of the repair.

  • What are some common repairs and their cost without insurance?

    • Broken screens, the most common repair, can cost $60 to $100 without insurance (dependent upon the model of Chromebook the student has)

    • A lost charger, the second most common, can cost $30 or more without insurance.  Some students lose multiple 

    • chargers in the same school year. 

    • A lost or stolen device without insurance can cost $250 or more to replace.  

  • How can I purchase insurance online? 

    • Insurance can be purchased while completing online enrollment through the registration gateway or

    • Through Quicklinks on our District Website and selecting InTouch - Payment Center - need to change steps

  • Can I pay with cash or check? 

    • Yes, if you would like to pay with cash or check, you can drop off payment at the TSI building on Central Campus in a sealed envelope with the following information on the outside:

      • Student First and Last Name

      • Student ID Number

      • Site

      • Grade

*If a case was issued with the device

**Insurance Claims of Theft must include a completed Jenks Campus Police Report, signed by a parent.
