London Williams, a 3rd grader at Jenks East Elementary, is already proving what’s possible with hard work and a positive attitude. This summer, she competed in the Junior Olympics in North Carolina, a remarkable achievement for someone who just started gymnastics. “It was amazing,” London says, beaming as she recalls not just the competition but also her first time seeing the beach.
Her gymnastics journey began at home, where she taught herself skills by watching YouTube videos. Soon after, she joined Aim High Academy, where she quickly excelled. The Junior Olympics was a huge step, but London faced the challenge with confidence. “I think to myself, ‘I can do this. Jesus is by my side. Don’t listen to the haters. Not everybody will be happy for you. But, I can do this,’” she shared.
London's family was there cheering her on, giving her the encouragement she needed to succeed. “My family made me feel really good,” she says. From balance beams to floor routines, she handled each event with poise and determination.
When asked for advice for her fellow Trojans, London had a powerful message: “Don’t let people try to stop you. You can do anything. You’re beautiful just the way you are.”
