Student making bracelet

With already a month into the new year, many have tried and already failed their new year’s resolution or are still in the process of doing it. But if you want to keep up your new year’s resolution or try to make a difference in Jenks High School. Then try and donate to these different clubs and foundations by Jenks students.

Pre-Med Blood Drive

Almost every two months or so. Pre-Med does a big blood drive for the Red Cross. Snacks and water are provided for those who need it and are going.

It happens almost all day, happening right on campus at the Math and Science building on the third floor in the presentation room. Though this month was just missed, another one will surely show up to give you an opportunity to donate. If you want to know when the next blood drive is, follow Jenks Pre-Med on Instagram.

FCCLA’s Donation

FCCLA, known for donating and volunteering a lot, has another way for others to help SPCA. The weather is colder and  shelters are getting overcrowded, so the FCCLA are asking others to help them.

By simply donating T-shirts whether it’s old or new, you can help make a difference for a dog. The T-shirts don’t even have to be good quality.

FCCLA is taking T-shirts and turning them into toys for dogs in a pound to play with. They will wash all the T-shirts given to them before they are recycled to be a toy that can be used in a shelter. You can drop off your shirts to any FACS teacher in building 5 rooms 5227, 5228, 5229, and 5219.

Special Olympics

The Special Olympics are looking for donations by people buying their shirts. You could also possibly donate just a money donation towards they’re team.

There are so many places that you can donate that don't have to be a part of the school. For example donations towards the Salvation Army or donating clothes to Goodwill.

But even though some people feel like they are donating too little or not enough, they are still making a difference no matter how much they are donating. At Jenks we are trying to make a difference even if it’s just inside of our tiny city.
