NWE students were greeted this morning by cast from Jenks Vocal Music's production of The SpongeBob Musical! Such an exciting way to start our day!

NWE first graders had the best time at the Discovery Lab learning all about sound science, the place science and math have in the arts, and creating flutes out of straws. Thank you Jenks Public Schools Foundation for this incredible experience!

WATCH: Why are you so happy all the time? A student posed that question to Destinee Frazier. It was an easy answer for the Northwest Elementary Site Teacher of the Year. For someone who grew up loving every teacher and everything about school, there was never another path for Mrs. Frazier. She can’t see herself doing anything else. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_70ryauFVOU

Earlier this school year, 3rd and 4th grade students wrote essays about why they wanted a bike and what it would mean to them to have one of their own. Throughout the fall semester, 1️⃣5️⃣ students received free bikes and helmets thanks to the generosity of @swervefoundation. Each bike presentation not only makes a lasting impact on these students but on everyone there experiencing the overwhelming joy and excitement! We love to see these Trojans' dreams come true! 😌🚲
A huge thank you again to The Swerve Foundation and their sponsors Justin Carlton State Farm, Bixby Bicycles and Accessories, Tallgrass Estate Planning, LLP, Jeremiah Lindsey- Flat Branch Home Loans, and Andrew and Lindey Techanchuck.
To see more photos including all the bike recipients, please go to our JPS Facebook page.

Be thankful, be safe, and have a great Thanksgiving Break, Trojans! We'll see you on Monday, November, 27! 🦃☺️

Northwest Elementary Trojans enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving feast together at lunch this afternoon. This lunch was made special with homemade placemats, table conversation starters, and "servers"- aka NWE staff- to fill up students' cup with lemonade. What a great way to teach our Trojans how sharing a meal with friends or family is a great way to have quality time with those we value and appreciate. We love to see it! Cheers!

Each semester, administrators, JPS Board of Education members, and community representatives visit different sites to experience learning in the classroom and progress in our District. Today's focus throughout the Fall Board Showcase was to make connections throughout the District to the Portrait of a Graduate framework. Some highlights included problem-solving at Jenks West Intermediate, learning how to effectively communicate emotions at Jenks Northwest Elementary, CareerTech programming through agricultural education and STEM at Jenks Middle School, and collaborative project-based learning at Jenks East Intermediate. Thanks to all the principals, teachers, and staff members who made this showcase possible!
