Get outside!

Research shows that outdoor play is not only good for the physical body, but also good for the mind.  Kids get to work on social skills, imaginative play, while developing balance, strength and coordination.

Jog-A-Thon is one fun way to get exercise and raise money for our school, all at the same time! Every year our PTAG puts on a fundraiser, where our students’ collect donations and run the track at JWE.  

West Elementary loves to get the community and our parents involved in fitness, by hosting Family Fitness Nights! Our amazing P.E. Teachers organize everything from dancing to fun stations hosted by fitness organizations in Jenks!

Please see the links below for more useful information on healthy eating and active lifestyles, from the Tulsa Health Department.  THD also does presentations at our site on movement.  This encourages our students to get in 60 minutes of activity per day.
