FYI: Tomorrow – Wednesday, October 4 – the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts. The test is scheduled for tomorrow at approximately 1:20 p.m. Central Time. Test emergency alerts will be sent to all cell phones, TVs, and radios across the country. This test is not connected in any way to Jenks Public Schools or our District alert notifications. The second year of Growing Through the Arts, an immersion of art experiences for students funded by the Jenks Public Schools Foundation, has commenced for the 2023-24 school year! Things kicked off this week at Jenks Southeast Elementary, where Symon Hajjar of Hot Toast Music Co taught Kindergartners the art of songwriting. Students used tiny pianos to help spark their imagination to create melodies! The students collaborated with Symon on each melody, and songs were brought to life! Growing Through The Arts creates unique experiences in the arts for pre-k through 11th grade students, whether that be observing at an art museum, engaging with the Tulsa Ballet, or even exploring at the Discovery Lab. Each grade will have a different experience engaging in the arts as they grow.
