FYI: Tomorrow – Wednesday, October 4 – the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System and Wireless Emergency Alerts.
The test is scheduled for tomorrow at approximately 1:20 p.m. Central Time. Test emergency alerts will be sent to all cell phones, TVs, and radios across the country.
This test is not connected in any way to Jenks Public Schools or our District alert notifications.
The purpose of the test is to ensure that the federal emergency alert systems continue to be an effective means of warning the public about emergencies, particularly those on a national level.
More information can be found on the FEMA website.

Jenks High School students in the International Scholars Program invited Jenks West Intermediate students on a trip around the world without even leaving JWI! ✈️🌎
Global Village presents different regions of the world to capture the cultural diversity of the entire student body. This fun and informative event allowed JWI students to explore visual displays and unique activities of each culture. What an awesome way for our Trojans to connect!

Our first #5AFriday of the 2023-24 school year takes us to Jenks Northwest Elementary for their Kindergarten Nursery Rhyme Olympics! These tiny Trojans participated in various events based on classic nursery rhymes, such as a Jack and Jill Relay Race and Jack Be Nimble Hopscotch! Other nursery rhyme events based on Itsy Bitsy Spider, Humpty Dumpty, and Little Bo Peep are being played throughout the day in their classrooms. We love to see it! #Activities #Academics

Dr. Butterfield's first site visit for the 2023-24 school year is in the books! Today, we visited Jenks West Elementary and had the opportunity to participate in Mrs. Taylor and Miss Madden's 1st and 2nd grade multiage class morning meeting. The second year of Growing Through the Arts, an immersion of art experiences for students funded by the Jenks Public Schools Foundation, has commenced for the 2023-24 school year!
Things kicked off this week at Jenks Southeast Elementary, where Symon Hajjar of Hot Toast Music Co taught Kindergartners the art of songwriting. Students used tiny pianos to help spark their imagination to create melodies! The students collaborated with Symon on each melody, and songs were brought to life!
Growing Through The Arts creates unique experiences in the arts for pre-k through 11th grade students, whether that be observing at an art museum, engaging with the Tulsa Ballet, or even exploring at the Discovery Lab. Each grade will have a different experience engaging in the arts as they grow.

Year. After. Year. Jenks High School continues to be home for some of the most academically talented minds in the state and the entire country.

JHS has now qualified 10 or more National Merit Semifinalists in 13 of the last 15 years. Way to go, Trojans!

This morning, 2,977 flags were placed in front of Jenks High School by members of the Jenks Young Americans Foundation and other JHS Trojans to honor and remember the first responders and citizens who innocently lost their lives on this day 22 years ago. We are so proud of these students for preserving their legacy. May we #NeverForget. 🇺🇸
