Introducing the 2024-25 Site Teachers of the Year! These educators were selected by their peers at each JPS site because of the way they connect with students, mentor colleagues, innovate in their classrooms, and consistently demonstrate the mission, vision, and values of Jenks Public Schools. These ten individuals are relentless advocates for students and public education. Our community is so fortunate to have teachers like these (and many others), who inspire our next generation of leaders with their genuine care and passion for what they do. Please join us in congratulating them!

Once again, JPS patrons have shown unwavering support of our students, staff, and our mission. JPS voters approved two separate bond propositions today totaling $19,600,000 by a margin of 81.4% to 18.6%. Jenks’ voters have now approved 61 of the past 62 bond issues for Jenks Public Schools. Your vote of confidence is deeply appreciated. These bond dollars will allow JPS to continue to provide exceptional resources, facilities, and opportunities to all students. Thank you, voters!

Polls are open right now and will stay open until 7 pm. Please go vote in the JPS Bond Election! Thank you!

🌟 Exciting Day for Dr. Lawrence’s Aviation Class! ✈️
Today, students from Dr. Lawrence's Aviation class had the incredible opportunity to visit the Tulsa Air National Guard Base for a special Aviation Conference, sponsored by the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics.
From exploring cutting-edge technology to learning about career paths in aerospace, students gained valuable insights into the world of aviation. They also got an up-close look at the dedication and expertise of those serving in the field.
A huge thank you to the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics for making this experience possible and inspiring the next generation of aviators and aerospace professionals! 🚀

Halloween Festivities 🎃
We’re excited to let you know that for Halloween tomorrow you are welcome to dress up in costumes to celebrate the day. However, to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, we have a few guidelines that we need everyone to follow:
No identity concealing costumes: While costumes are allowed, face paint, Halloween masks, or costumes that cover your full face are not permitted. Please keep your face visible and be sure to wear your ID badge.
No Props: Leave any props, including toy weapons (such as guns, swords, staffs, etc.), at home. We want to avoid any items that could cause distractions from learning or pose safety concerns.
Dress Code: All costumes must follow the district dress code. These guidelines are attached.
We’re looking forward to seeing your creativity, and we appreciate your help in making the holiday fun and safe for everyone! Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Dear Freshman Parents,
We have a very unique day next Friday, November 8th, here on Central Campus, where Sophomores will be testing on campus, and Seniors will attend our annual Onward – PrepYou! Conference on Friday, November 8. Juniors and Freshmen instruction will be received virtually on this day, and Freshmen should not attend school on this day unless there is a need for them to be on campus (athletics or activities). With the campus staff being pulled into many different directions, this creates a major disruption to how we operate as a school and school sites, and we are able to pivot into a distance learning day. We appreciate your understanding while our staff is engaged throughout the day.
Your student’s teachers will communicate and assign learning activities to your student via Canvas. Please reinforce with your student the need to participate and complete assigned learning activities on that day while he/she is at home.
If your student does not have transportation and needs to be on campus so that he/she can attend athletics, or some other school activity in the afternoon, your student can come to school in the morning by his/her usual mode of transportation, and your student should report to the Media Center. If you have any questions on this, please contact our attendance office.
We are excited to have the ability to offer a day of instruction like this and hope that your student leverages this day fully!
Go Trojans,
Jenks Freshman Academy

We know how to make an entrance. The ribbon was cut this morning on the beautiful new arches at the south end of the Jenks High School campus. This project was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Short family in partnership with the Jenks Public Schools Foundation. The stunning stone and brick design was completed by our friends at LDKerns Contractors and WRA Architects, Inc.

Green grass all around, all around (and year-round)! Students at Jenks High School are enjoying the new turf, benches, berms, and shade structures – all part of the recently completed campus beautification project. Enormous thanks to Jenks Student Council and all the students who organized and donated to Jenks Dub Week for their vision and contributions in creating this incredible space! Another example of bond dollars at work and sensational partnerships with Crossland Construction Company, Inc., GSHelms & Associates Architecture, and ForeverLawn in Oklahoma. What a transformation!

Jenks teachers are life-changers. Sure, they are preparing lessons and helping students understand concepts, but the job is so much more. They are encouragers, mentors, advocates, and listeners. They believe in your kids. What JPS teachers do for our community and our world cannot be understated or adequately summarized here. You know and understand the true significance of what these remarkable professionals have done for your child. Please join us in celebrating and appreciating our incredible educators, as well as our principals, counselors, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, child nutrition workers, and all support personnel, for answering the call every day and making a difference for the next generation.

School will start 45 minutes late at ALL JPS sites this morning. All morning bus routes will run 45 minutes later than normal. Intermediate sites will begin at 8:30 AM. Elementary sites will begin at 9:15 AM. Middle School, Freshman Academy, and High School will begin at 10:00 AM. School will end at the normal time this afternoon.

This morning, members of the JPS Board of Education and administrators stepped into classrooms and media centers for an inside look into our school sites' learning and outstanding educational programs. Each stop was tied into the attributes and characteristics of the Portrait of a Graduate framework.
Highlights from the Spring Board Showcase include communicating and collaborating with grands in Jenks West Elementary's multiage program at Grace Skilled Nursing & Therapy, supporting students learning through multi-tiered systems of support at the Jenks Freshman Academy, developing POG attributes at the Jenks Alternative Center, exploring music with the Little Trojan Academy, and practicing effective communication and service learning in the community at Jenks East Elementary. Thanks to all the principals, teachers, and staff members who made this showcase possible!
