Small gestures can make a big difference. Something as simple as a wave can create a smile and a connection.
Every afternoon, David Winn sits in front of his house and waves at students from West Intermediate and West Elementary as they roll by on the bus. It’s something David looks forward to every single day, and it’s something our students and bus drivers absolutely love.
Today, members of the JPS Transportation Department gathered in David’s driveway to present him with the “Spirit of Transportation” Award and personally thank him for his commitment and contribution to the JPS culture. Congrats, David! Thank you for all you do to build up our people and make our community a better place!

Ideas are good. Taking action on those ideas is even better. Students in the Dual Language Program at Jenks East Intermediate recently participated in advocacy projects in which they identified problems in the community and came up with solutions. When they realized not all students have access to books at home, they started a school-wide book drive and collected more than 3,000 books! They donated 1,500 to the OSU-Tulsa Stache of Books program to distribute in the Greenwood Community and today, they loaded the other 1,500 books on the Trojans Read the Way Bookmobile. The Bookmobile will be out and about in Jenks and South Tulsa throughout the summer months. What an incredible act of kindness and generosity from these JEI Trojans! Thanks to all who donated!

The JPS Summer Feeding Program is BACK!
Jenks Northwest Elementary starts June 5 and the Jenks High School Dining Hall starts June 7. All Children eat free! No paperwork is necessary. Must be 18 or under. Family members are invited! Adult Breakfast $3.00, Adult Lunch $5.00

Here is one last exclusive look at the collaborative 6th grade "Heart of a Trojan" mural! All 12 panels will be installed on the back of River City Trading Post very soon. Thank you, Jenks Public Schools Foundation, for funding this Growing Through the Arts experience for our 6th graders! Stay tuned for the full reveal!

This year, our Trojan athletic teams added six state championships and surpassed 200 titles in school history. Year after year, our student-athletes continue to outperform the competition. Congrats to all players and coaches on another huge haul of hardware this year. #5AFriday #Athletics #HomeofChampions

Congratulations to Jenks High School student-athlete and Jenks Trojan Basketball player, Dylan Golightly, for signing his letter of intent to continue his academic and basketball career at Connors State. You will do great things on and off the court, Dylan! 🏀👏 #ForeverATrojan

Take a glance into Jenks West Elementary's 4th grade Exhibition!
Exhibition is a culminating experience for 4th grade students to apply the attitudes, skills, and knowledge they have gained during their journey at JWE. Students have been working hard to collaborate on presentations that involves them identifying, investigating, and offering solutions to real-life issues or problems. Topics are widely ranging from homeless animals, pollution, bullying, poverty, etc. We love to see it! Great work, Trojans!

Bouncey houses, bubble parties, snow cones, smoothies and more... Jenks Middle School's annual Blast couldn't have been better! We'll let the pictures speak for themselves. 🤩🍧

Congratulations to Jenks High School sophomore, Harini Senthil for being selected as a winner of the Jiffy Lube "What Drives You" $1000 scholarship! Harini is one of four winners out of 170 submissions from 22 schools in the greater Tulsa, Broken Arrow, Glenpool, and Owasso areas. She will be featured on the Jiffy Lube Tulsa high school posters in the fall, and her video submission will be posted on the Jiffy Lube website. Way to go, Harini!

The Jenks High School Class of 2023 has proven that being determined pays off. Each year, we are proud to announce a few scholarship winners who are chosen by members of the JHS faculty, as well as the Jenks Public Schools Foundation. Please join us in congratulating these seniors on their outstanding achievements!

Class of 2023 collabing with the class of 2034!
This is the 4th year that Jenks High School seniors in Mr. Foster's English class have paired up with Jenks West Elementary first grade students in Ms. Treat's class to write a book! Today, first graders took a trip to the JHS Media Center to finally see and read the book the seniors wrote about them. Afterward, they played board games, built legos, and had an intense game of musical chairs! We love to see Trojans come together and have fun!

Putting some C O L O R into your Friday afternoon with some pictures from Jenks West Intermediate's Color Run today! 😆🌈

GIRLS TENNIS IS GOLDEN! The Trojans secured the 6A state championship with titles at #1 singles (Avery Arent) and #2 singles (Quinn Leos), and runner-up finishes at #1 doubles (Ava Jacobsen, Carrington Hessen) and #2 doubles (Sofia Ohlson, Campbell Johnston).
It's the 19th state crown in program history and the first since 2017 for girls tennis. Congrats, ladies!

Not all heroes wear capes!
Today, Jenks Southeast students celebrated their cafeteria staff by surprising them with Thank You cards for National School Lunch Hero Day. A huge thanks to our JPS Child Nutrition staff for ensuring that our Trojans are fueled and ready to learn every day. We appreciate all you do! #5AFriday #Attitude

Title DEFENDED! The Jenks Girls Golf team trounced the competition and battled through the elements en route to a second consecutive 6A state championship!
Lisa Herman (a freshman!) won the individual state title with rounds of 70 and 71 for a 3-under par total.
Congrats to Lisa, Lily Stanton, Isabella Suttee, Sophia Lefler, and Bella Negley on an unbelievable season! Way to go, Trojans!

Safety is the top priority at Jenks Public Schools. It's why we train. Why we practice and prepare. It's why we continuously evaluate our processes and our response.
Today, the JPS Incident Management Team (IMT) coordinated a full-scale emergency exercise to simulate a bus accident. This was only a drill. Our IMT members worked closely with multiple local agencies - police, fire, EMSA - to go through all aspects of an emergency response. This kind of training is extremely valuable and we are so thankful to our community partners and everyone involved for making this a successful exercise.
This was a drill.

From building robots to making slime and sun-cooking an egg, the last site visit for the 2022-23 school year called for Dr. Butterfield to be hands-on! There are so many exciting things happening in Dr. Lawarnce's STEM Lab. Thank you, Jenks Freshman Academy! 🤖🧪🥚😄

Trust the process. Jordan McCown did, and now he has earned distinction as a National Board Certified Teacher!
McCown, who teaches English at Jenks High School and oversees the Trojan Torch student newspaper, dedicated years to the steps and components involved in completing the most prestigious certification in the teaching profession. This year, McCown is one of only 2,800 teachers across the country to become an NBCT (National Board Certified Teacher). We are so proud of his commitment to professional development and there is no question his students, and our district, will benefit from his self-reflection and hard work!

It's almost time for the Jenks High School Class of 2023 to walk across that stage! Here are some important details:
