How Sports Work at Jenks Public Schools
Jenks Public Schools offers a wide variety of athletic programs within the district for grades PreK – 12th grade. Responsibilities for these programs are divided up primarily between four groups: Jenks Athletics, Jenks Community Education, school sponsored and site-specific club activities, and non-district programs.
Jenks Athletics
Jenks Athletics oversees 17 programs for the district, which breaks down to over 90 teams operating between grades *6th – 12th. We currently serve 1140+ student athletes, student athletic trainers, and student managers. Jenks Sports Medicine is also a part of the athletic department and educates future athletic trainers at both the secondary and collegiate level, while also handling the medical and prerequisite eligibility needs of our students.
Our programs are sanctioned under the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association (OSSAA). As such, our athletes are held to conduct, eligibility, and scholastic standards set by the OSSAA and Jenks Public Schools. Students that successfully meet those requirements are then eligible to officially compete on behalf of the Trojans for 6A Regional, District, Area, Academic, and State Championship titles.
We are also included as part of the Frontier Valley Conference, which is comprised of Bartlesville, Bixby, Booker T. Washington, Broken Arrow, Jenks, Muskogee, Owasso, Sand Springs, Sapulpa, and Union Public Schools. Districts included in the FVC collaborate continuously throughout the year on scheduling to ensure our students have the competitive opportunities required to truly succeed in their chosen sport.
*Currently, fast-pitch softball is the only option available to 6th grade students.
Jenks Community Education (Youth and Club Sports)
Jenks Community Education offers a wide variety of services to parents and students in the Jenks Public Schools district, including non-OSSAA youth and club sports. For full information on their program offerings, please visit their page at Jenks Community Education.
School Sponsored and Site-Specific Clubs and Groups
Multiple school sites at Jenks offer individual school sponsored clubs or programs that are not covered by Jenks Athletics or Jenks Community Education. For more information on what is currently available, please contact an administrative assistant at your child’s school.
Non-District Programs
There are many youth and club sport options outside of the Jenks Public Schools district that provide valuable experience and opportunities for athletes prior to trying out for a school team.
