Putting some good vibes on your feed this Friday afternoon! 😄
Thank you to all the families for joining just for our Family Fun Fridays! It was the perfect opportunity to unwind, connect with families, enjoy some fresh air and soak up the springtime feels.

The end of year party will take place on Tuesday, May 28. Students will rotate through stations that include inflatables, games, and even a glow party. Sixth graders will participate from 8:00 - 11:00 and fifth graders will participate from 11:00 - 2:00. Students should either bring a sack lunch from home or plan to purchase a lunch from the cafeteria. Fifth grade will eat lunch at 10:30 and 6th grade will eat lunch at 11:00. Students will have the opportunity to purchase concessions, glow sticks, and photo booth pictures during the event using a punch card. PTAG will be selling punch cards May 21 - 24. Each punch equals $1. Most items for sale this day will be worth one or two punches on students' punch cards. Each punch card can hold 20 punches and students are able to purchase as many punches/cards as parents allow. We will not be taking cash the day of the event and no refunds will be given. Punch cards are presale only.
The event will be closed to parents. However, parents may volunteer to work at a station.

If a parent has already completed confidentiality training this year, he/she does not need to complete it again.

JWI's Fourth Annual Color Run was a success! Thank you to the volunteers who gave their time, and to our school counselors and Mrs. Mosher's class for all their planning and preparation for the event. Special thank you to all the sponsors and individuals who helped support this event and our school!

The Color Run is still on for May 17. As we look at the weather at 3:00 on Thursday, it looks as if we may be dodging showers. In the event, we have rain or lightning during the time your child is scheduled to participate, know that we will have them participate with another group at one of the other scheduled times. We hope all will go as scheduled, but we wanted to inform you that we will double up teams if necessary.
Unfortunately, the lawn is too soggy to have our lawn games. Please try to come on Friday, May 24 when we hopefully have drier ground!

Big shoutout to these amazing staff members for always bringing the positivity and brightening up every day! 🌟 Your energy and dedication make our team unstoppable. #PositivityPitch

Grateful for every smile, every laugh, and every moment shared under the sun today. Huge thanks to all the amazing families who rocked our outdoor event! Your presence made it truly special. 🎉☀️ #FamilyFunFriday

Part of our amazing Family Night on Tuesday included lots of student artwork. "6th Grade Growing Through the Arts" was on display in a dark room with lots of black lights for families to view. The creations were based on work of local artist Rafael Corzo (inspired by his work titled “600 Children”).
This opportunity was made possible for our 6th grade students because of funding from Jenks Foundation.

Our Spring Family Night was a success! Thank you to all the families who were able to attend last night. Luckily, the weather cooperated with us and we were able to fly the kites at lunch today!

This is a FUN FILLED week!
Tuesday, May 7th- Spring Family Night 5:00-8:00 pm
Wednesday, May 8th- Come fly the kite you made at Kite Night
Friday, May 10th- Family Fun Friday

Jenks teachers are life-changers. Sure, they are preparing lessons and helping students understand concepts, but the job is so much more. They are encouragers, mentors, advocates, and listeners. They believe in your kids. What JPS teachers do for our community and our world cannot be understated or adequately summarized here. You know and understand the true significance of what these remarkable professionals have done for your child. Please join us in celebrating and appreciating our incredible educators, as well as our principals, counselors, paraprofessionals, bus drivers, child nutrition workers, and all support personnel, for answering the call every day and making a difference for the next generation.

The week of May 6th - May 10th is Teacher Appreciation Week!
Take a look at the ways that PTAG is encouraging us to show our teachers and staff some love and appreciation!

School will start 45 minutes late at ALL JPS sites this morning. All morning bus routes will run 45 minutes later than normal. Intermediate sites will begin at 8:30 AM. Elementary sites will begin at 9:15 AM. Middle School, Freshman Academy, and High School will begin at 10:00 AM. School will end at the normal time this afternoon.

Students submitted designs for the 2024 JWI Color Run t-shirts. Students narrowed down the finalists to one fifth-grade and one sixth-grade design. Finally, students were able to vote on the winning design. Check out Siera's (grade 5) t-shirt design that will be displayed on this year's shirt. Special shout out to all of the students who submitted their creative ideas!
