Jenks High School students got a jolt of innovation! πβ‘ Ms. Finchβs environmental science and physical science classes, who have been designing and testing cardboard electric vehicle models, got to explore a real Tesla Cybertruck and chat with a Tesla representative about the future of electric vehicles and careers in STEM. Hands-on learning never looked so cool!

Weβre gathered here today to celebrate a very special unionβ¦ π
Kindergarten students at Jenks West Elementary gathered for Q & U saying βI do,β with Dr. Butterfield officiating the ceremony. The Tiny Trojans celebrated afterward with juice and wedding cake. A phonics lesson turned into a fun, memorable moment!

Today we honor and reflect on the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

Learning was on full display during Dr. Butterfieldβs visit to Jenks East Elementary as she joined students for a phonics lesson in Ms. Dayβs 1st grade classroom and jumped into a fun rhythm syllable match game in Ms. Jonesβ music class. What a great morning at JEE! Thank you to our teachers for welcoming us into your classrooms!

Complacency benefits no one. Bond dollars are invested with purpose and with students in mind. The Trojan Trail at Jenks Northwest Elementary is one example, but you'll find many more at every school site in our district. Put a reminder in your phone now and VOTE in the JPS Bond Election on Tuesday, February 10. More details and a full list of proposed projects here https://www.jenksps.org/page/bond-election

What better way to prepare for whatβs next than hearing from those who have just experienced it? π
Jenks College & Career hosted an alumni panel featuring Class of 2025 graduates, who shared insights, advice, and encouragement from their first semester of college with current JHS students preparing for life after graduation. A big thank you to our alumni for returning and giving students the confidence to take the next step!

The construction at the Freshman Academy is only one example of how bond dollars continue to shape the future for generations of Trojans.

This month, the Swerve Foundation surprised six students from Jenks East Elementary and Jenks West Elementary with the gift of a free bike and helmet. As always, Swerve events were full of cheers, high-fives, and unforgettable smiles. A huge thank you to the Swerve Foundation and their sponsor, Relation Insurance Services, for continuing to make moments like these possible for our Trojans while spreading generosity this holiday season!

This week, students across the District participated in the Global Hour of AI, exploring coding and artificial intelligence through a single, creative activity. Whether they were beginners or already familiar with coding, every student had the opportunity to jump in and discover something new. Students created games, animations, and stories while strengthening key JPS Portrait of a Graduate attributes, such as thinking critically, communicating effectively, and showing resilience as they worked through challenges. They also gained awareness of high-demand career paths in computer science and AI, where these skills are more important than ever. Weβre thrilled to have so many students participate and see whatβs possible through coding and AI!

Making a difference one page at a time! Our Jenks High School FCCLA chapter is embracing the season of giving by donating books and decorating tote bags for the Trojans Read the Way Bookmobile! Their hard work will help bring the joy of reading to families across the District. Thank you, Trojans! βοΈπππ

Changing the course of their future. Daniel Akindehin, Anna Bui, and Holland Thompson are bound for three of the top universities in the country after qualifying as finalists and being selected as QuestBridge National College Match recipients. These Jenks High School seniors received full, four-year scholarships covering tuition, housing, food, and other expenses to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)(Daniel), Columbia University (Anna), and Washington University in St. Louis (Holland). More than 20,000 students applied from across the nation, and only 2,500 received matches to one of their top college choices. Congrats on this remarkable achievement, Trojans. We know this is only the beginning!

Congratulations to Kaydin Jones and Ryley Kester of Jenks Trojan Football, the latest student-athletes to make it official and sign a letter of intent to play at the collegiate level. Join us in cheering for these Trojans as they continue to excel both on the field and in the classroom! #ForeverATrojan
