Jenks Northwest Elementary students enjoyed a delicious Thanksgiving meal together this afternoon, made even more special with homemade placemats, fun conversation starters, and NWE staff - aka servers - filling everyone's cup with lemonade. This is a perfect way to show our Trojans that sharing a meal with friends and family is a great way to have quality time with those we appreciate. Today, Jenks East Elementary 3rd graders experienced Lyric Theatre's interactive performance of The Sound of Music! This production gives students the experience of live theatre while also teaching them all about the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. Several students were even selected to perform along with the cast during some of the most popular songs! Thank you, Jenks Public Schools Foundation, for making this Growing Through the Arts Initiative for all 3rd graders possible!

JPS was pleased to welcome Governor Kevin Stitt and Education Secretary Nellie Sanders to the Jenks Freshman Academy and Jenks High School this afternoon. The Governor and Secretary Sanders took time to meet with students, staff, and administrators to gather feedback on school cellphone policies. Students in grades 9-12 provided valuable insight for our state leaders to consider and discussed ideas about responsible digital citizenship. The future leaders of Oklahoma meeting with our current leaders was so rewarding to witness!
8 Jenks High School student-athletes across 3 sports were the first to put pen to paper at the first National Signing Day for the 2024-25 school year! We couldn't be more proud of these Trojans for continuing their academic and athletic careers. Congratulations to these athletes and their families! #ForeverATrojan

Jenks West Elementary's student-led Veterans Day assembly was moving tribute to those who have served in the military. Students performed heartfelt songs, recited meaningful poems, and honored the family members of both students and staff who have served. It's been a special day across the District filled with respect and celebration for those who have given so much for our country!

Rain or shine, the Jenks High School Class of 2025 is prepped and ready for the future! Today, the entire senior class had the opportunity to hear from business leaders and industry professionals to help prepare for college and career possibilities at our PrepYou Senior Conference at OSU-Tulsa. Big thanks to Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell for inspiring our seniors, to Senator Dave Rader for showing up to support our future leaders, and to all of our presenters, organizers, and the Jenks Public Schools Foundation! This upcoming April will be 30 years since the tragic OKC bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. The Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum is traveling to all 77 counties to present their Journey of Hope assembly to educate students with stories of survivors, first responders, and the many impacted on that fateful day.
Jenks Freshman Academy had the privilege of attending the assembly and hearing from Lori Fullbright / News On 6 as she shared her perspective of that day, reporting on the bombing, and the trial in Denver. Students were also encouraged to continue the Oklahoma Standard by committing to Be the Light.
Jenks Middle School STUCO students participated in a rededication of a tree that was planted at JMS in 2011 that grew from a seedling donated from the actual Survivor Tree. The Survivor Tree is seen as a symbol of hope and is a living testament to the spirit of resilience and courage of the Oklahoma community.
Thank you to Lori, the first responders, and state representatives who attended and were recognized today at the assembly, and thank you to the teachers who helped organize this event!
It was a wonderful morning spent at Jenks West Intermediate during Dr. Butterfield's site visit. Dr. Butterfield participated in some exciting learning exercises alongside students and took part in a fun brain break activity in Ms. McMahan's class! Thank you for a great time, JWI!
REMINDER: Tomorrow-Friday, November 1-is a Distance Learning Day for students and a Collaboration Day for staff.
All students will stay home tomorrow to participate in distance learning. There is no in-person instruction tomorrow. Staff members will use this time for collaboration, professional development, and strategizing to support students.

Jenks East Elementary's 3rd and 4th graders are taking the spotlight as they write, record, and edit JEE's morning announcements, Good Morning, Trojans! With the support of JEE's STEM Coordinator, Kylie Smith, this student-led experience is an incredible opportunity for them to showcase their creativity and teamwork hands-on. Stay tuned, these Trojans might be working for our local news stations one day!
Ready, set, GO! 🏃♂️🏃♀️ Students at Jenks West Elementary are having fun today participating in their annual Jog-a-Thon. Thanks to all the parent volunteers, teachers, staff members, and sponsors for making this event a huge success! Look at them go!
October is the Month of Giving! Employees around the District participate, but this year, students got involved. Buses competed to see who could raise the most money, and Bus #1 raised a grand total of $422 for the Jenks Public Schools Foundation! Love to see our Trojans giving back!
New York Times best-selling author April Henry, best known for her thrillers and captivating storytelling, visited our secondary sites to speak to our Trojans about the craft of writing, researching, and publishing. Thanks for sharing your spooky personal stories and your mysterious writing wisdom, April!
Dr. Butterfield just wrapped up a fantastic site visit at Jenks Alternative Center. Ms. Cox's class did an incredible job presenting their Holocaust timeline they have created using the hallway, and we had a blast playing Superfight debate card game in Mr. Boatright's class.
