January is National School Board Recognition Month and we want to sincerely thank Chuck Forbes, Tracy Kennedy, Ron Barber, Melissa Abdo, and Terry Keeling for the time they volunteer and the dedication they display in helping our schools thrive. So many of our programs and initiatives simply would not be possible without the support of these individuals. We appreciate you, Board members! Thank you!
Congrats to Maren Johnson on being named the 2023-24 Gatorade Oklahoma Volleyball Player of the Year! It's an incredible honor achieved by only the most elite HS athletes in the country. Maren was selected for her outstanding play on the court, as well her 4.11 GPA and her volunteer service at Tulsa Boys & Girls Club. She helped the Trojans to a 34-5 record and the 6A state title this year, and concluded her HS career with a school-record 1,371 kills. Way to go, Maren!

JWE put together a holiday sing-a-long for their Trojans including a surprise teacher and staff performance. We love to see it!
It's Colonial Day at Jenks East Intermediate, which means JEI 5th graders take a trip back in time to experience the 17th and 18th centuries! Students have been learning about the Colonies and what life was like all those years ago. This afternoon, students engaged in activities like making their own butter from scratch, signing their names on the Declaration of Independence using a quill pen and ink, playing popular 17th and 18th-century games, and drawing the flag. What a fun learning experience for these Trojans!
Happy HALLidays! π
Jenks West Elementary's holiday hallway decorating contest has commenced, and these students and teachers truly outdid themselves! Judges experienced Christmas around the world, retro holiday vibes, a snowball fight, and all 12 days of Christmas! Who do you think won? Let us know! β¬οΈ πβοΈπβοΈ
It's Mental Health Awareness Week at Jenks High School! Jenks Student Council partnered with Family & Children's Services to raise awareness and reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health through activities and resourceful luncheons each day. Today at lunch, students made friendship bracelets, wrote down what they're thankful for, and pomped a sign. We are proud of you, Trojans!
Would you believe us if we said Dr. Butterfield drove in a Grand Prix race...at Jenks Alternative Center? Well, she did! This morning she got behind the wheel of a driving simulator during JAC's site visit and took it for a test drive alongside a few JAC students. After her joyride, she stopped by Ms. Freeman's English class where students were reading a graphic novel edition of Macbeth. Thanks for a fantastic morning, JAC! ππ
Best surprise ever!

The eSports program at Jenks High School is only 2 years old and has already captured 2 state championships! This past weekend, the Trojan squads won the title in Overwatch 2 and placed third in two other events. The students and coaches were outstanding representatives for their team and their school. We're proud of how far this program has come and where it's going. Congrats to all!

For the third year in a row, seniors at Jenks High School have received full, four-year scholarships to prestigious colleges through the QuestBridge Match Scholarship program. Ila Sous and Toluwani Ladapo are two of only 2,242 students nationwide who were selected as Match Scholarship recipients. Through this incredible opportunity, Ila will attend University of Pensylvania and Toluwani will be heading to Colgate University in New York! Congratulations, Trojans!
