JENKS ATHLETICS HIRES BARON POTTER FOR ASSISTANT ATHLETIC DIRECTOR POSITION JENKS, Okla. – Jenks Public Schools will recommend Baron Potter to the Board of Education to join the Jenks Athletic Department as an Assistant Athletic Director. Potter arrives in Jenks after serving as the Site Athletic Director at Edmond North High School for the past four years where he managed all daily operations of the athletic department. During his tenure, Edmond North athletic teams won 15 state championships and secured 16 state runner-up finishes. “I’m beyond excited to join the Jenks family,” Potter stated. “This community’s tradition of excellence, both in the classroom and in athletics, is something I deeply respect. I look forward to building strong relationships, supporting our coaches and student-athletes, and continuing to grow a culture rooted in hard work, integrity, and pride. I can’t wait to get started!” Potter, a graduate of Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas, worked in multiple athletic roles at Edmond North starting in 2010 up to 2021 when he took over as Site Athletic Director. Potter was the Linebackers Coach, Defensive Line Coach, Assistant Head Coach, and Defensive Coordinator on the Huskies’ varsity football staff, in addition to an assistant coach and Offensive Coordinator for the freshman football team. Potter spent three seasons as the Head Coach of the Boys Varsity Golf team and guided the Huskies to the state championship in 2021. He worked eight seasons as the Head Freshman Baseball Coach and served eight seasons as the football equipment manager, coordinating and leading a team of student managers each season. “We’re excited to welcome Baron and his wife Megan (Jenks alum ‘02) to the Trojan Family,” commented Clay Martin, Jenks Director of Athletics. “It didn’t take long for our committee to see that he was the right fit for this position. Baron’s drive and selfless approach to leadership helped lead Edmond North to great success over the last four years. Our department will benefit greatly from his experience as we serve and support our coaches, students, and community.” While coaching at Edmond North, Potter served on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Coaches Association and was elected by his peers to a three-year term as a Region 8 Representative. He earned certification as an athletic administrator in 2024 from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA), a nationally accredited program.
