Students from Mrs. Cunningham's 5th grade class attended the Jenks Community Food Bank to help out. They were awarded this field trip by donating the most food during our Canned Food Drive.

The 3rd Quarter Character Trait assembly featured a special guest speaker, Zach Anglin. He is the world's first quadruple amputee licensed commercial pilot and flight instructor. His motivating speech focused on the character traits of courage and perseverance and encouraged students to seek out their goals and pursue them!
The assembly was opened with our PTAG Color Run Fundraiser's highest earners in 5th and 6th grades. 5th grader, Matt Villalovos and 6th grader, Sophia Rogers had so much fun smashing a pie into our beloved counselor, Emily Copsey's face while we all celebrated their achievements. Thanks for being a good sport, Emily! Additional thanks to our guest speaker, Zach Anglin for motivating our students to reach their highest goals! You are a true inspiration!

Our 6th grade Orchestra and Band students performed demonstrations for current JEI 5th graders so they could learn more about each program before filling out 6th grade enrollment cards. JHS orchestra students also performed for our students. We are so proud of the progress that the 6th graders have made in just one school year together!

Introducing the 2024-25 Site Teachers of the Year! These educators were selected by their peers at each JPS site because of the way they connect with students, mentor colleagues, innovate in their classrooms, and consistently demonstrate the mission, vision, and values of Jenks Public Schools. These ten individuals are relentless advocates for students and public education. Our community is so fortunate to have teachers like these (and many others), who inspire our next generation of leaders with their genuine care and passion for what they do. Please join us in congratulating them!

We are still looking for volunteers for our Book Fair! Please sign up if you can!

JEI sixth grader, Avaleigh Lindaman showed true kindness this week by going door to door in her neighborhood collecting food for our canned food drive. She brought over 100 cans for the Jenks Community Food Bank. Avaleigh didn't do this to win but to make a difference in our community. We are grateful for students like Avaleigh here at JEI!
Thank you to everyone who donated to our food drive and helped make it a huge success! We are proud to help the Jenks Community Food Bank!

Last week we had an author visit from James Preller! He is the author of over 80 children's and middle grade books. He spoke about his experience drafting stories from research and his personal experiences. He even had conversations with a group of aspiring authors to discuss how to develop their craft and the process of becoming a professional writer. We cannot thank Mr. Preller enough for visiting our school!
We also want to thank JEI PTAG for providing us with this experience!
His books are available online for purchase!

Tomorrow is our last day for the Food Drive! Thank you for helping so many families in Jenks!

Once again, JPS patrons have shown unwavering support of our students, staff, and our mission. JPS voters approved two separate bond propositions today totaling $19,600,000 by a margin of 81.4% to 18.6%. Jenks’ voters have now approved 61 of the past 62 bond issues for Jenks Public Schools. Your vote of confidence is deeply appreciated. These bond dollars will allow JPS to continue to provide exceptional resources, facilities, and opportunities to all students. Thank you, voters!

Polls are open right now and will stay open until 7 pm. Please go vote in the JPS Bond Election! Thank you!

JEI students are so well cared for by our amazing counselors, Rhonda Wells and Emily Copsey. Happy School Counselors Week to the best!

JEI took 8 students to the regional MathCounts competition at TU on Saturday. They competed against about 120 sixth through eighth graders from the Tulsa area. Kai McDaniel finished tenth place overall. Students can qualify for state as individuals or as a team, which combines their individual and team round scores. JEI took home the third place team prize with Kai McDaniel, Jack Hudson, Ethan Forth, and Kenji Babcock. These students and coach, Nicolette Hall, will represent JEI at state on March 1. Great job!!

5th Grade students experienced a day in the life of a Colonial child through Colonial Day Stations. The experiences included button making, sewing, quill pen writing, making and playing with colonial toys, playing colonial games, wig making and so much more! They even experienced making their own butter! It was a day filled with fun, through real life experiences.
