Students in Sra. Allenβs Spanish I class have been reading a chapter book that takes place in Chile.Β Β Today, Sra. Venegas came to share about her home country, and brought many things for the kids to play with and look at. The students enjoyed her visit and learned a lot. It's Colonial Day at Jenks East Intermediate, which means JEI 5th graders take a trip back in time to experience the 17th and 18th centuries! Students have been learning about the Colonies and what life was like all those years ago. This afternoon, students engaged in activities like making their own butter from scratch, signing their names on the Declaration of Independence using a quill pen and ink, playing popular 17th and 18th-century games, and drawing the flag. What a fun learning experience for these Trojans!
