JEI Archery students, coached by Peggy Morrow, recently competed in the State Tournament and represented JEI very well! Declan Kelley placed 2nd and Jack Noble placed 3rd in Elementary division of the Archery State tournament. We are so proud of all the Archery participants!

Jenks East Intermediate 6th graders were inspired to create mini sculptures today after viewing a sculpture made completely out of recyclable materials by artist Rafael Corzo. Students were instructed to include at least 3 colors, 3 materials, and 3 textures in their sculptures and their creations are impressive! Once they are finished, their sculptures are shown off under a blacklight to glow in the dark! Thank you, Jenks Public Schools Foundation, for making this immersive Growing Through the Arts experience possible!

Blake Brewer, of Legacy Letter, spoke to our guests prior to Dynamic Dads activities in the classrooms. Students and guests learned about perseverance through stories and games. We appreciate all of our volunteers!

The JEI Character Trait assembly was held today and our guest speaker was one of our very own JEI former students. Mercy Haokip is a Jenks High School student who took her challenges and turned them into triumphs. She spoke to our students about perseverance. Two of Mercy's JEI teachers, Kirstin Fishback and Cathey Love, were huge influences in her life and inspired her to see the amazing abilities that she had inside of her, and encouraged her to share them with the world. We are so proud of Mercy!
5th and 6th grade students were honored with medals and certificates for the character trait of Responsibility. Way to go, JEI students! You are such good examples of great character!

Thank a school counselor this week! We are so grateful to our incredible JPS counselors for all they do to enrich and enhance the educational experience for our students. These professionals are teaching character traits, tackling challenges alongside teachers and staff, and providing unmatched care and compassion for all students. Our schools wouldn't be the same without them! #NationalSchoolCounselingWeek

Congratulations to the Jenks East Intermediate 6th graders who competed at the MathCounts regional competition today! Our students competed against 6th-8th graders from the NE Oklahoma region. Elena ZhangWang won the top 6th grader award and won an Oplet math program subscription for JEI! We got to celebrate Garrettβs birthday today, too! Finally, a big shout out to JEI alumni in the last three pictures who were competing at the middle school. They won the top overall team award, and Arin Tripathy and Addison Baker were in the top 5 individuals overall. Coach Nicolette Hall is so proud of all of them!

Exactly two weeks from today, you can play a part in shaping the future of Jenks Public Schools. Set that reminder in your phone now and go VOTE on Tuesday, February 13 in the JPS Bond Election. How will the bond dollars be used? Why does this matter for my student? How does this impact the District's finances? Great questions. Find those answers and a detailed list of bond items at jenksps.org.

Self-Discipline Character Trait winners were recognized during our last assembly. Students cheered for classmates and welcomed our guest speaker, Ragon Francy, a 2025 Jenks High School Graduate, who spoke to students and staff about Responsibility. Ragon is a great example for our students to look up to and we are so proud of the winners for showing great character!

Add it to the "to-do" list on Tuesday, February 13. VOTE in the 2024 JPS Bond Election! Bond dollars reach every student in every grade level and allow JPS to achieve its goals of elevating learning for all, fostering innovation, and continuously improving.
